Mechanical Design Engineer
Create structural enclosures, thermal management systems, and ruggedized packaging for complex edge computing and industrial electronics.
Role Overview
Core Edge Solutions is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to sculpt the physical form of our electronic systems. You will be responsible for thermal modeling, IP-rated enclosure design, tolerance stack-up analysis, and transitioning concepts into high-volume injection molding and CNC production.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings with GD&T using SolidWorks / PTC Creo / CATIA.
- Conduct thermal simulations (CFD) and structural FEA analysis to ensure optimal heat dissipation and impact resistance.
- Design for manufacturing and assembly (DFM/DFA) across die-casting, sheet metal, and plastic injection tooling.
- Perform environmental qualification testing (vibration, drop, thermal cycling, IP67 ingress tests).
Qualifications & Requirements
- BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical packaging of electronics products.
- Hands-on experience with CAD modeling, thermal management, and rapid prototyping technologies.
- Strong knowledge of material selection (aluminum alloys, engineering plastics) and manufacturing tolerances.
